- Organization Support
There is considerable debate regarding the effectiveness of international volunteer programs. Some argue that international volunteering can do more harm than good and we are quick to agree. Throughout the last fifteen years hundreds of staff have worked to continually improve the structure of our international volunteer program. We firmly believe that if volunteers are appropriately vetted and trained, and both the volunteer and the organization have access to the information they need to assess whether or not a placement is a good match, short term international volunteering can play an important role in providing assistance to struggling community groups, institutions and non-governmental organizations.
This section of our website outlines the steps that our international volunteer program takes to ensure that each volunteer placement maximizes the positive impact of each volunteer's contribution.
