International Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Abroad has international volunteer opportunities in five placement categories. Although skill and experience is important, a sincere willingness to learn and contribute is often all that is required to make a valuable impact. BaseCamp believes that by educational programs that properly prepare international volunteers for the short and long term volunteer placements, as well as, the emotional adjustments necessary to living overseas, we can achieve a positive impact and experience for both the international volunteers and the local peoples.  BaseCamp with its experienced in-country staff, well vetted volunteers and organizations plus their intensive 2 day and 7 day orientation program ensures that  BaseCamp international volunteers are prepared for their volunteer placement as well as living in their host country.

Health Care International Volunteering provides volunteers with the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including small rural health clinics, public and private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, x-ray clinics, dental offices and fire stations.

Teaching International Volunteering placements vary from assisting students in small rural schools to larger inner-city schools,  to learn various subjects such as:  English, math, computers, art and sports.

Environmental International Volunteering provides volunteers with the opportunity to work in a range of breathtaking locations, from National Parks to local beaches, volcanic sites and ranches. Volunteers will be able to directly assist in the protection of a variety of endangered wildlife, flora and fauna, eco-systems, and environmental and agriculturally sensitive areas.

Childcare International Volunteering places volunteers in orphanages and day cares to provide comfort and care for children in need. Feed, play, hold, change diapers, or just be there to provide care and support.

International Volunteering in Development can have volunteers working on building projects, outreach programs for street children, equal rights for women, crisis counselling, micro finance, fair trade, radio programs,  website and graphic design.
